Panama City Mini-Food Crawl...

>> Wednesday, October 12, 2011

So hubby and I went to Panama City, Florida for a 5-day vacay. It was so great to get away for a while while the weather is just perfect; not too hot and not too cold.We did not do anything but just chill out and enjoy the lovely surrounding.Aside from just chilling in our beachfront condo, hubby and I also did a mini-food crawl (as I call it). What I did was did some searching for some Asian restaurants in and around Panama City. I found a some with good reviews and those are the ones that we decided to check out for ourselves.

First stop is Sweet Racks. It's more of a barbecue resto that came with some Filipino-inspired foods. They had tocino ribs and stuffs like that. They also have lumpia, pancit and a few other Filipino foods. The owner's wife is actually a pure-blooded Filipina born in the Philippines but she grew up here in the US already. That explains the Filipino inspiration of some of the dishes they have.

Next place we check out was Seoul Garden restaurant in Callaway, Florida. It was like 30 minutes away from our condo so hubby told me on our way their that they better be good and worth the drive. When we got to the place, it did not look promising at all. I mean, it was a small white and kinda old-looking building. When we got inside, there,s only two people eating there. I helped hubby order and recommended he try the kimbap for appetizers. What a surprise because he loved them just like I do. Then he ordered some sweet and sour chicken while I ordered the non-spicy version of Korean beef bulgogi. Boy, everything's so good!!!Hubby's a happy camper too. The foods are really good considering the fact that he is a picky eater. If you happen to be in the area, you better check this place.

Lat but not the least, we went milkshake-hunting and found one at a Chevron in the strip. Boy, F'Real milkshakes are the bomb! I got me the strawberry one while hubby got the one with Reese's. When we got home here in Alabama, I searched for places to get some F'real milkshakes and found only two service stations that sell them. I hope they will have more retailers soon.
